Thrift Store Desk Organizer Makeover

This is not anything like my original plan for this desk organizer, but I still like it. The base is gesso, paper, semi gloss gel medium, and watercolor splashes. The next layer is pressed flower petals dulled with white paint and stenciling with light molding paste. I added the border color, drawer pull, and the wood scalloping (also painted to match.) Last was some glossy gel and embellishments (old key and paper flowers).

Today is an odd, gray day which I love but did cause some odd lighting, forgive me.

Scrappy Junk Box with a Floral Touch

Finally posting photos of a wood box I covered in scraps and anything else on hand. I like to stick mail and art journals and loose pieces of papers, like coupons, in it.

Using Pressed Petals on a Decoupage Box

Apparently I cannot have a regular, brown, wooden box in my room. This altered project is covered in scraps, ribbon, lace, washi tape, pressed flower petals, playing cards, stamps and other embellishments.

Make any Jars Vintage-style and Sweet

Someone gave me a handful of little glass jars that were used as wedding favors. I usually let glass jars be since they are pretty and useful without work but these had a permanent logo printed on them. Because of that, I decided to mess around with a more extravagant decoration style, just for fun.

These were painted in yellow ombre. The ombre is not only on each individual glass but when lined up like they are in this photo, they are ombre compared to each other. Hard to tell in this though. They have also been mod podged, decorated with vintage lace in multiple places, have mini pearls attached on top and have yarn and twine and lace bows.

Prepping my Travel Journal 9

Here is the inside cover of the back with another handmade sheet music tie close envelope attached to hold craft supplies or memorabilia.

The envelopes are actually made with real, vintage sheet music that has a great thick but flexible texture. I am hesitant to use my seven full boxes of such sheet music but if I choose the unusable or multiple copies, I might feel less guilty. This was my first time crafting with some.

Prepping my Travel Journal 7

The statement floral paper is actually two pieces sewed together as an envelope with the tag sewed on to the front piece. I thought having a tall top open envelope would be good for quick stashing. Plus the print is gorgeous.

On the left, I sewed paper onto cardstock paper to make a little envelope. I have a piece of lace stuck in there for now.
